Delight in an up-close encounter with Australia’s captivating wildlife and enjoy a perfect introduction to the best wine and food of the Yarra Valley. On this unique tour, you will see kangaroos and koalas among other species in the world-famous Healesville Sanctuary, and eat lunch while overlooking the rolling green hills of the Yarra Valley.
For the first time visitor, this tour offers the perfect introduction to the best of Victoria as you meet Australian wildlife and get a taste of the Yarra Valley’s favourite wine and food.
We start our day around 9.00am and travel directly to the world-famous Healesville Sanctuary, one of Australia's most recognised and acclaimed wildlife sanctuaries.
With 30 hectares of bushland, it showcases more than 200 species of Australian wildlife in a distinctly Australian setting. Here, visitors can experience close-up encounters with some of Australia's most unique and captivating wildlife in their natural habitat, including koalas, kangaroos, wombats, emus, dingoes, birds of prey and platypus.
We then travel to Victoria's first vineyard, Yering Station, for a pre-lunch wine-tasting in the original redbrick winery (circa 1859) building surrounded by local artworks and produce.
Lunch is a short walk away through landscaped gardens in a stunning contemporary building with world-class views and cuisine. Browse the menu.
Following a relaxing lunch, travel through to the Bortoli Winery at Dixons Creek. As Italian as Domaine Chandon is French, it's a great finish to the day with superbly flavoured cheeses that compliment the sparkling, table and dessert wines

Our guide Rob made arrangements to pick us up in town as we weren’t staying at a hotel. He was available and willing to make these special arrangements. Rob shared with us a lot of information about the land and the people in the area as Drove out to the wild life sanctuary. He is so knowledgeable and engaging. He was helpful throughout the day. He even helped me the following day buy some wine. Rob is a thoughtful, caring and knowledgeable guide. We had a great time with him.
Outstanding tour with Rob! Great views, yering station lunch was far greater than expected. Delicious wine from both wineries, bought three bottles to take home. Millie was great at yering station.
Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an insight into the Yarra Valley wine region in beautiful surroundings. A trip to Healesville Sanctuary is an added bonus to experience a lot of Australian wildlife in their natural habitat. A visit to the town of Healesville is also a must as this historic township has many craft shops and lovely cosy little cafes for an morning or afternoon tea. Definitely well worth a visit.
