Your Experience

Enjoy a warming cup of tea or coffee as the first rays of sunlight slowly change the colour of Uluru. Then travel to the mystical domes of Kata Tjuta also known as the Olgas. Walk through Walpa Gorge, where the trail follows the natural creek bed between two of the tallest domes. Spend time exploring the gorge and the unusual conglomerate rock formation. The early rise is well worth it as you experience the two major landmarks in Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park. Start with an amazing sunrise at Talinguru Nyakunytaku, the Uluru also known as Ayers Rock sunrise viewing area. Afterwards, on the 45kms drive to Kata Tjuta also known as the Olgas, your driver guide will provide you with a historical overview of the National Park. The walk through the sheer walls of Walpa Gorge won't disappoint as you're led into a world of rare plant species and lush evergreen scrubs.

Itinerary

Rise early and travel into Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park. Enjoy a warming tea, coffee or hot chocolate as the dawn creeps across the desert plain and lights up Uluru. Return to the coach for the scenic drive to the 36 domes of conglomerate rock that forms Kata Tjuta. Enjoy a panoramic view of the southern side of Kata Tjuta from the dune viewing platform. Uluru can also be easily seen on the distant horizon from this lookout. Your driver guide will provide insight into the history and geology of this ancient land. On arrival at Kata Tjuta, spend time exploring Walpa Gorge, following the path between two of the tallest domes to a lush oasis in the desert.

Pickup Notes

Tour departs daily, 90 minutes prior to sunrise from Ayers Rock Resort.

Special Notes

What to bring: Snacks for breakfast, enclosed walking shoes, water bottle to hold 1 litre, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, flynet in summer months which is optional and warm layers in cooler months. Conditions: Child aged 2 to 15 years pays the child price. Infants under 2 years travel free of charge. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Concession card holders with a valid concession card pay the concession price.
