Want to learn to surf on Main Beach Byron Bay?! We are one of the few surf school providers who run lessons right in Byron Bay.
We surf in really small groups, max of 6 participants so you will have loads of hands-on help from our professional instructors.
Our 2-hour lesson (3-hour experience) will offer a truly authentic surfing experience that covers all the basics from warm-up to paddling, catching waves and standing! The lesson price includes all equipment; board, wetsuit, rash vest, sunscreen and zinc.
Do what the locals do and join our friendly surf instructors for some fun in the waves.
Head to a less-crowded section of the beach with a group of no more than 12 and an expert instructor for each six students — one of the best student-to-teacher ratios in Byron Bay. During your 2-hour lesson, learn ocean safety essentials and surfing basics like mounting your board, paddling and standing up. After practicing on the beach for a time, paddle out into the calm waters to put your new skills into action. Your instructor will be on hand the entire time to provide guidance and ensure your safety.
Suitable for: Beginners.
What to bring: Swimmers and a towel.
Conditions: This course is for adults so you must be over 12 years to book in. You will surf in all weather and conditions, provided they are safe. The exact departure time is scheduled around the tides.

The tutor “Alex” was great, we picked up surfing on our second attempt after his instructions. After that we spent the day catching waves and having fun
I took several lessons with the team in Byron and I have to say that they have helped me a lot to beat my own fears :) Everybody there is easy-going, cheerful and respectful, I didn't feel the pressure to do anything that made me feel uncomfortable and I was able to have a great time with them. Good job!
Would highly recommend this professional company. An easy location with local expertise & knowledge of beaches and conditions. Dylan took fantastic care of us and the 2 kids. I liked the attitude regarding the importance of beach safety, respect for the environment and having fun, plus the excitement and encouragement when we caught waves! Added bonuses we couldn’t have booked for were seeing dolphins and whales within close proximity and the water was a beautiful temperature.
