Our tours are designed to provide an interactive experience with the Undara Lava Tubes. The tubes were created when the Undara Volcano erupted over 190,000 years ago, pouring out enough lava to fill Sydney Harbour three times over.

The lava flowed east to west and lasted a long time, which allowed the outer edge to cool, while the interior kept flowing. This is what created the tubes you can see today. There’s 23 countries around the world with lava tubes, but the Undara system is believed to be the longest of its kind.

All of our tours are guided by highly skilled Savannah Guides, who are dedicated to providing, accurate and informative information about the tubes and surrounding environment. At Undara Experience, we take tour guiding very seriously and we understand that a good guide is essential to creating your once in a lifetime travel experiences.

Allow 2 hrs to complete – runs mid-March till October – bookings essential.

An excellent concentrated visit to the lava tubes, plus other interesting environmental, geological and historical features pointed out and explained by your Savannah Guide throughout the trip to and from the tubes. Visits up to 3 sections of lava tubes. Easy fitness level with boardwalks and steps.
