Itinerary

Two hour guided zipline and tree platform tour through the Daintree Rainforest with at least 1 hour in the rainforest canopy.

You’ll start with the Human Hamster Wheel harnessing the energy of enthusiastic jungle surfers to hoist riders up to the first tree platform.

Then you’ll glide through the different levels of the canopy, with bird’s eye views over the treetops, down to cascading streams and out to the Great Barrier Reef.

The longest span is over 75 metres and the platforms range from 3.5m to 19.5m high, offering an up-close and personal experience with nature at her spectacular best, and incredible photo opportunities.

The tour is fully guided three guides to maximum 13 guests and no experience is necessary.

The abseiling and scientist guides share their rainforest wit and wisdom with interpretive talks on each platform and the team use a unique system to control your flight, making this the only flying fox in the world where you can fly hands-free and carefree.

Special Notes

Conditions: Pre-booking is required. We will only pick up our pre-booked customers and private vehicles are not permitted on our property, so you must book beforehand if you wish to come on a tour. Jungle Surfing is popular throughout the year (especially during school holidays) and many tours are fully booked, so it is advisable to book a few days in advance.

Anyone can jungle surf. Our oldest Jungle Surfer to date was 89, and no great physical strength is required. However, there is a 250m walk to the first Platform along a narrow forest trail and another short walk from the final Platform back to the harnessing centre. During the tour, the guides do all the work and the customer can just sit back and enjoy the ride. If you have restricted mobility or a medical condition about which you are concerned please give us a call to discuss your requirements prior to the tour and we will be happy to help.

Your child will be fitted into their own junior harness and will travel independently throughout the tour. They will not be attached to your adult harness. However, from Platforms 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4 you will travel along the cables in pairs, only a few metres apart. On Platforms 4-5 and 5-6, you will fly singly. On the final zipline 6-7, you'll be racing side by side to the ground. If you have a small child, we recommend that two persons accompany the child, one travelling ahead and one behind the child.

Jungle Surfing is an all-weather activity and will only be cancelled by the operator in extreme conditions such as cyclones or severe electrical storms. In the unlikely event of a tour cancellation, we will offer alternate dates/times or offer a full refund if a mutually agreeable replacement tour cannot be scheduled. Please note that third party booking fees may not be refundable in all circumstances.

What to wear: Enclosed footwear, long shorts or pants, t-shirt or shirt with sleeves, no singlets or sleeveless tops.

What to bring: Cameras are attached to the harness for safety, and bags are provided for mobile phones. You may also bring a go-pro and selfie stick

Restrictions: Maximum weight 120kg/260lbs/19 stone Minimum age 3 years. Not recommended for pregnant women. Spectators are not allowed.

More of a family friendly adventure instead of something for an adrenaline seeker. It's all very safe and you get a good view of the tree tops. Went with a buddy that I met on the bus up to Cape Tribulation from Cairns and while it was not very exciting, at least a pleasant way to spend the morning. We went on the first slot in the morning and I would highly recommend that because it's still nice and cool and the kiddies are all still asleep. Had a good view from a few of the platforms. Facilitators were all very friendly and chatty and helped pass the time. They knew a fair bit about the jungle as well so learnt some interesting trivia facts. I went in Jul 2018.

A fun adventure and very safe. They have 6 platforms and a unique way to get up to the first platform (human hamster wheel!). The guides are very helpful and friendly. It's not a high adrenaline zip line, like you can find in Mexico and Costa Rica but fun in any case. I took off 1 star because on one of the platforms, my daughter got a painful bump (on the edge of the metal ramp) while waiting to go.and it is a bit short, but otherwise definately worth a visit.

Jungle Surfing was a wonderful adventure. I walked through time, experienced innovative technology, met interesting people, enjoyed nature and most importantly had fun. I really could go on and on about the experience, but think you would enjoy discovering more in person.
